Greetings from the year 2052!

It is only days until your 76th birthday, and I am writing to thank you, my younger self.

It was around this time so many years ago that you finally started a road to financial wellness that included saving and investing.

I write to thank you because shortly I will be undergoing the neural mind-mapping procedure, which will be a precursor to transferring my consciousness to a younger, engineered, designer body. This is the gift your hard work bought us; this is our retirement. You would be so pleased with us.

Alternatively, should I choose to do so, I can put my consciousness in a hardier mechanical body so that I can start travelling the stars or into one of the virtual worlds meticulously cared for by benevolent AIs or perhaps I shall put myself in suspended animation until after the ice age ends and we can reboot Eden and bring back old life.

The next 40 years will be challenging but make no mistake: it will all be worth it.

Best to you,

Victor
