“When you’re a small-business owner, you have to wear a lot of hats”, says Parks. “You’re the one doing the accounting, the billing, the customer service, the payroll, the IT and the taxes, and there is good and bad in that. On the one hand, you learn everything, so when you are able to expand, you know how things should be done. But on the other hand, you’re spread so thin that some things are going to fall through the cracks.”
