Chad Parks here, Founder and CEO of The Online 401(k).
I’m writing for several reasons, but let’s start with the most important: I want to thank you for being a part of our family. You are obviously a part of a forward-thinking business that recognizes how critical it is to offer savings at work.
Surprisingly, you are more of a rarity than the norm.
According to 2010 Census data, 92% of businesses with two to 20 employees do not offer any kind of retirement plan. That represents almost four million small businesses and almost 40 million employees.
(R)evolution: Welcome! You are a part of it.
Since The Online 401(k) was founded in 1999, we have always been ahead of our time. You are involved in a small business, so you know firsthand that every business of every size needs to evolve to remain relevant. That’s even more true of the retirement landscape and we have been at the forefront of that change from inception.
Our commitment to transparency is as strong as ever.
Our model of fee transparency has not changed in 12 years of business. However, others in our industry have not always shared our core values.
The Department of Labor, which oversees our industry, has finally started listening and is working with us! With the collective efforts of The Online 401(k) and other key players in the industry, we are working to expose hidden 401(k) fees—which you will be hearing a lot about in 2012.
Luckily, you have chosen wisely with The Online 401(k), and there are no unpleasant surprises in store for you.
As new fee regulations become effective, we will be sure to communicate important information to you and your employees.
Our new… everything….
We’re changing fast. We asked, and you told us that our Web experience and service model is outdated, and that an overhaul is in order. We agree! It is with that in mind that we are committed to bringing a fresh and intuitive experience for you and your employees.
In recent years, there have been some life-altering advancements in technology, and our expectations are higher than ever. That’s why The Online 401(k) is introducing an all-new online experience for our clients, unlike anything else you’ll currently see in the retirement industry. Stay tuned for ongoing developments throughout 2012! I think you’re going to love the changes.
The Online 401(k): Coming to a town near you.
U.S. retirement statistics are nothing short of alarming. That’s why a small group of us are hitting the open road in an orange VW bus (no, really) in mid-spring 2012. And we want to meet you, our forward-thinking clients, as well as the 40 million workers who don’t have access to retirement savings at work. Keep an eye out for our vibrant caravan in a city near you!
If you’d like to catch up with us on our U.S. tour, write us at email@example.com and tell us what city you are in. We’ll let you know when we’re visiting your area so we can have a chat!
So let’s do this.
2012 is going to be a great year for all of us. There are major regulatory changes on the way and The Online 401(k) is committed to constant improvement and keeping you in the know.
Let’s meet soon! We want to know your story and help to make your voice heard.
